Loi Krathong Festival in Thailand



          Loi Krathong festival took place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai calendar. In the Western calendar this usually falls in November. This ceremony happened for thankful and sorry a river that have given lots of benefit from water to Thai people consume.
               
          Loi literally means ‘to float’ while Krathong refers to the lotus-shaped receptacle which can float on the water. Originally, the Krathong was made of banana leaves because it can help a river still be fresh.
                
          Moreover, there is a little competition in every parts of Thailand about women; they have to wear the Thai dress for showing and describing about Thai culture. Including Thailand still have many types of fireworks to play and help the Thai children are very fun and happy in Loi Krathong festival.
                
          Thai people believe in Loi Krathong festival is a chance to thankful and sorry a Ganges river that they have consumed water all of the year. So Thai people won’t lose this chance when Loi Krathong festival comes to.              

          This year, Loi Krathong festival will takes place on November 28th, 2012. So if you have a time, I would like to suggest seeing or visiting this festival because it has a lot of interesting activities that you have never seen, will happen in Thailand.
